COUNSELLING
In private practice since 2019, I work with individuals who find themselves at a crossroads in life. Whether that it is questioning life’s meaning, feeling stuck in patterns of behaviour, experiencing emotional pain and turmoil or wondering why life has not turned out the way it was expected to.

Together we can explore areas of difficulty and challenge, current life events and your life story. Through this work new meaning can be made that can help nurture a stronger sense of self care, compassion and acceptance; a resting place for your whole being.

I also work with the arts. It can be hard sometimes to put words to the fullness of our experiences. Through art materials, objects, poetry and increasing your bodily awareness, a fuller expression can be supported.

Areas in which I work include, but are not limited to -
-
transitions in life
-
depression
-
anxiety
-
anger
-
trauma
-
bereavement and loss
-
despair and suicidal thoughts

I have particular experience in working with clients experiencing relationship difficulties at home or work, sexual harassment and sexual violence, the effects of birth, motherhood and parenting.

I see individuals on a short term basis (6 – 12 sessions) or for open ended work.

WORKING WITH ORGANISATIONS
Early in my career I became interested in helping people unleash their potential, create fulfilling lives and engage with meaningful work.
The workplace is often a challenging and complex environment. Robust interpersonal skills, high quality supervision and people management are essential if individuals and organisations are to perform at their best.
I am a skilled and experienced facilitator and trainer. Since 2006, I have worked within commercial, charity, education and public sectors. My clients have ranged from front line staff, team leaders, senior leadership teams to young people, women in crisis and parents.
My training and coaching interventions are dedicated to empowering people to build productive relationships, be inspiring leaders and commit to continuing professional development.

My facilitation style is intuitive, empathetic and authentic. This allows me to create rapport quickly, sustain positive relationships and be at ease with challenge. This often results in others opening into their own journey of discovery, becoming more self-aware, excited about their increasing ability to be sensitive to their own and other people’s needs.
I am a responsible leader and believe very much in 'as I lead, I am being lead'. My reflective practice is the foundation of my work and supports others in their own self-inquiry, which I regard as life’s most effective teacher.
I am committed to my own development, and supervision and professional conduct is central to my work ethic.

Reflective Practice

As a reflective practice facilitator, my role involves guiding individuals and groups through the process of self-reflection in a supportive and structured manner.
I create an environment where participants can examine their experiences, actions, and thought processes, allowing them to gain deeper insights into their professional or personal growth.
In this capacity, I foster critical thinking, helping individuals analyse their practice from multiple perspectives, identify areas of challenge, and recognise strengths that can be further developed. I use various tools and techniques, such as group discussions, writing, and reflective models, to encourage open and honest exploration. My facilitation is centred around the idea that reflection leads to learning, enhanced problem-solving, and increased self-awareness.
Additionally, I work across diverse fields—education, healthcare, social enterprise, and leadership—helping people build a culture of understanding and collaboration. My work often empowers participants to take ownership of their development and apply reflective insights to enhance their effectiveness and well-being in both professional and personal settings.
I am skilled in seeing what issues are arising and identifying patterns. I help others understand their unconscious motivations and make meaning of their actions. I have the ability to see and consider multifaceted dimensions of an issue, being able to respond quickly in an meaningful way, as well as consider and deliberate deeply as necessary.
